To Whom It May Concern:
Recently, we had a home
built by Bill and Cindy Morris of Elegant Living Homes (ELH)
and we want to take the opportunity to say what a pleasant
experience it was for us. Having a house built for you can
be a daunting task ) we know---this is our 5th
one), but as we saw with ELH, it doesn’t have to be. We
think the key issue here was the willingness of Bill and
Cindy to work with you daily on every aspect of the house
construction and to make sure you’re satisfied and happy.
If that meant changing some feature or convenience factor,
adding or deleting some item, rearranging the appearance of
the house, or substituting materials and surfaces, they were
the first to say, “let us seen what we can do”. You cant
put a price tag on the improved comfort zone and goodwill to
the homeowner that such an attitude generates.
The second item we want to
touch on is the quality of construction and attention to
detail. Before we decided upon a builder, we looked at over
100 houses (by over 20 builders) under construction in the
Brazos Valley. The quality went from horrendous to
excellent. Unknown to ELH, we followed about 5 of their
houses under construction from the slab to final sale. The
same high quality was put into each house. If there were
mistakes (and there will always be some), we saw the mistake
ripped out and corrected. Just prior to final inspection,
ILH are their own worst critics for pointing out defects in
the house. They will go through the house and mark
incidental items that the average person wouldn’t see, and
the average builder would just try to cover up.
Thirdly, we need to talk
about the “little things” that ELH puts into their houses
that are excluded in many builders’ houses. We know from
experience that if some of these items aren’t included in
the house to begin with, it will cost you later when you
have to pay to have them installed, or the fact hat without
them there’s a reduced value of the house at resale. Some
of these items added by ELH include: rain gutters; decking
in the attic over garage; extra allowance of high quality
bedding plants and grass for landscaping; heavy-duty wooden
privacy fence with corrosive nails; extra wide crown molding
in the den, dining room, entrance, kitchen and master
bedroom; window coverings throughout; oversized patio; solid
surface countertops; extra-wide driveway; sidewalks from
driveway to both front and side doors; generous blend of
wood, ceramic tile, and carpet for flooring; and extra-sized
heating and air conditioning tonnage for reserve capacity.
Without reservation, we
highly recommend ELH to anyone considering a new home.
Sincerely,
Roger and Anna Bell Harvey
